The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has conducted local government Congress to elect party leaders across the twenty local government areas of Ogun State.
Radio Nigeria correspondents report a large turnout of members for the exercise which produced a set of 18 executives to run the party’s affairs in each of the council area.
Assessing the Congress, the Chairman, PDP Electoral Committee for the Local government Congress, Mr. Tachio John said the active participation of members had contributed to the peaceful and successful outcome.
Mr Tachio who maintained that the party was on the right track, also urged the members to remain united and work for the progress of the party.
Similarly, the Chairman, Caretaker committee of the PDP in Ogun State, Mr. Dada Awoleye who commended the party faithful for conducting themselves peacefully, said the peaceful conduct of ward and local government congresses, was an indication that the party was ready to win the seat of governance, at the next general elections.
