As part of efforts to reduce the cost of transportation occasioned by the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel, the Federal government has supplied one hundred and fifty units of Compressed Natural Gas conversion kits and Cylinders for conversion of commercial vehicles in Oyo state.
The conversion kits, delivered by the Presidential Compress Natural Gas Initiative, P-CNGi, were offloaded in fifty units at three designated workshops located at Toll gate, Podo and Ajibode where commercial drivers are expected to present their buses for conversion to CNG.
Vice Chairman, Oyo state Park Management System, PMS , Alhaji Ademola Adeoye, who thanked the federal government for the initiative promised that transport fare would be reduced when all drivers key into the use of CNG.
Delivering President Bola Tinubu’s passion to the people, Business Development Executive, P-CNGi, Louisa Afu, called on Nigerians to switch to the CNG option for a safer, cheaper and cleaner transportation experience.
The P-CNGi Business Development Executive, hinted that talks were ongoing with banks to get conversion financing for private vehicle owners to enable them benefit from the initiative, saying vehicles from 1996 upward were CNG compliant.
