Osun State House of Assembly wants Traditional Rulers of Orile Owu and Araromi Owu communities to prevail on their subjects to sustain the existing peace in the two communities.

The Chairman and members of the House Committee on Security and Inter- Parliamentary Relations, Mr. Tajudeen Adeyemi made the call when he led other members of the committee during a fact finding mission to Orile – Owu and Araromi – Owu communities in Ayedaade Local Government Area.

While emphasizing that peace is a major component to attaining development and achieving a sustainable growth, Mr Adeyemi stressed that the state government had commenced the process which would bring about permanent solution to the agelong chieftaincy declaration crises between Orile – Owu and Araromi- Owu communities.

In their submissions, members of the security and inter parliamentary relations among whom were Mr. Sikiru Bajepade, Mr.Taofeeq Olayiwola, Mr.Kanmi Ajibola and Mr.Folorunsho Ogundare said Governor Adeleke would do everything humanly possible to ensure total restoration of peace into the two communities.

The Olowu of Orile Owu , Oba Daud Akinfala and Olu of Araromi Owu, Oba Sikiru Oyeyemi appreciated Osun State House of Assembly for the visit.

The traditional rulers called on their subjects to stay clear from crises saying anyone caught fomenting trouble would face the full wrath of law.

Chairman and members of the committee were conducted around the scene of the burnt buildings and vehicles in Araromi Owu.

Recall that, Member representing Ayedaade State Constituency, Mr. Folorunsho Ogundare recently raised the issue at the floor of the House and called for timely intervention of Relevant Stakeholders.
