The Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Oyo state chapter has organized a three-day holiday camp for children whose parents are serving various jail terms in correctional facilities within the state

The programme under the Promise Path Initiative of the Fellowship was an annual event organized with a view to shaping, moulding, inspiring and impacting participants who were drawn from different parts of the state.

The exercise which has its theme as “Discovering Me” featured games, film shows, quiz, mentorship, life coaching and spiritual guide

Speaking at the end of the holiday camping held at St Peter Catholic College, Apata, Ibadan, the state chairman, Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, Prophet Boyede Sule represented by Pastor Daniel Farinde challenged the children to be obedient, be of good behavior and make the best out of life for themselves.

Also speaking, the national coordinator of the project, Mrs Tosin Olugbade said the project was to provide psychosocial support and mentorship to the children, giving them hope of becoming great in life despite their family experiences.

In his goodwill message, Reverend Father Ralph Agbeja commended the organizers for using their resources, time and energy to mould the future of the inmates’ children, challenging government to take a cue from the initiative.

Earlier, the Oyo state coordinator, Promise Path Project, Rev Kayode Oluyombo said thirty inmates’ children between ages 10 and 20 benefitted from the gesture, urging them to put to use the character-build mentorship gained during the exercise.
