There is the need for service providers to understand the core needs of their customers and create room for regular feedback to guarantee effective service delivery.

This submission is contained in a communique issued at the end of a 3-day National Conference on Public Service Delivery organised by SERVICOM in collaboration with the House of Representatives committee on Inter-governmental affairs.

The Conference was held in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

According to the communique, to effectively manage service, public sector entities must imbibe a service culture, constantly adhere to service quality, engage employees regularly and leave customers with a pleasant experience.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria after the conference, National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of SERVICOM in the Presidency, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli said, an evaluation system would be adopted to ensure full implementation of the conference’s resolutions in the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs 

Two of the participants, Mr Salifu Abdul and Mrs Anieanam Udom explained that the conference was an eye-opener to effective methods to improve service delivery.

The 3-Day National Conference which ended on Wednesday, 28th August, had 215 participants drawn from 52 MDAs across the country in attendance.
