Dele Agbeyo, popularly known as Dele Gold, a renowned gospel singer from Usi, Ekiti State, and raised in Faforiji, Osun State, sadly passed away on Wednesday, September 11, after a short illness. His demise has sent shockwaves through the music industry and his fans.

Dele Gold gained widespread recognition for his notable collaboration with Juju music legend Ebenezer Obey in 2019. His colleagues and fans have taken to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to the late singer.

Fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody broke the news on Wednesday, writing, “Dele Gold Kee??? Ahh, this is getting too much ooo!!! May God help us stop untimely death. Dele Agbeyo May your soul rest in peace.”

Wonder Doyin Kujore also paid a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying, “Nothing is in this world, let us live today and leave tomorrow for God. I find it difficult to post people who died prematurely because it saddened my heart but I just have to pay my last respects here. Hmm, This life is full of vanity. Rest on Dele Agbotikuyo Dele Gold.”

Similarly, the Nigerian film industry has lost a prominent figure, Shina Sanyaolu, a respected producer and director in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood. The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.

Bolaji Amusan, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), confirmed Sanyaolu’s passing on his Instagram page, writing: “Sleep well Uncle Shina Sanyaolu.”

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko paid a heartfelt tribute to Sanyaolu, saying: “Shina Sanyaolu was just not a remarkable man, he was a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him.” “His love for arts and his unwavering support for our industry were unmatched. Shina was always there for us, offering a helping hand and opening doors where there seemed to be none.” “For those of us who travelled to the UK in the 80s, he made it feel like home.

Welcoming us with open arms, giving us a place to stay and even taking time off from his busy life to drive us around.” “Shina your generosity knew no bounds and your spirit touched countless lives. You were truly a rare gem. The world feels emptier without you but we take solace in knowing that your legacy lives in the hearts you have touched.”

TAMPAN UK president Doyin Amodu also honoured Sanyaolu’s memory, writing: “Your love for the arts and unwavering support for the industry was unmatched. Good night, my brother and director. You will be deeply missed.”
