The Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, has announced the appointment of three new Deputy Clerks, effective immediately. 

The announcement was made by the Speaker, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, during a plenary session on Thursday.

The appointments were made in accordance with Section 17 of the Oyo State House of Assembly Service Commission Law, 2007 (as amended). 

The new Deputy Clerks are Mr Samuel Kolawole, who will serve as Deputy Clerk (Legal, Administration, and Finance), Mrs Mobolanle Adetifa, who will serve as Deputy Clerk for Legislative Matters, Research, and Budget and Mrs Bashirat Abiola Mapaderun, Deputy Clerk for General Services

Prior to their appointments, Mr Kolawole served as Director of Administration and Supply, Mrs Adetifa served as Director of Legislative, Planning, Research, and Library Services, and Mrs Mapaderun served as Director of Editorial and Hansard Publications.

Honourable Ogundoyin congratulated the new Deputy Clerks and noted that this is the first time the Oyo State House of Assembly is implementing this provision of the law. 

He stated that this move will allow senior officers to contribute their expertise to the system and ensure smooth career progression.

Also during plenary, the State College of Nursing and Midwifery further Amendment bill was passed into law.

It scaled third reading following the presentation of the report of the joint Committees on Health, Nutrition and Food Security and Education (Tertiary) Institutions, Science and Technology read by Mr Rilwan Saminu representing Saki East and Atisbo State Constituency.

With this amendment, the name of the College has changed from Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery to Oyo State College of Nursing Sciences
