Members of the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti chapter have carried out peaceful protest over non-remitted deductions by the management of the hospital.

The protesters locked the main entrance to the Teaching Hospital to prevent people from gaining entrance. 

They carried placards with inscriptions such as ”Remit our deductions, Save EKUSUTH from collapsing, Pay our cooperative deductions among others to show their grievances.

Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman of JOHESU, EKSUTH Chapter, Mrs Omotola Farotimi  alleged that the various deductions and entitlements had not been remitted by the management of the Hospital for the past eleven months.

When contacted, the Chief Medical Director of EKSUTH. Professor Kayode Olabanji urged the aggrieved JOHESU members to go back to their duty posts in the interest of patients awaiting treatment in the hospital.

He promised that all the issues raised by the union would be addressed.
