The Osun State House of Assembly has screened Justice Foluke

Awolalu, following her nomination by Governor Gboyega Oyetola as President, State Customary Court of Appeal

The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Femi Popoola in his remark on the nominee described Justice Awolalu as a jurist of note who had worked in the different capacities.

Other lawmakers in their submissions lend credence to the fact that the choice of Justice Awolalu as President of the State Customary Court of Appeal was noteworthy.

Justice Awolalu, while answering questions on how to enhance justice delivery system so as to reduce the number of awaiting trials, said more Justice should be employed while condition of service should be improved.

Earlier, the Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye had read notification letters received from the parliamentarians from Oshogbo South LCDA and Olorunda Local governments on “Vote of no Confidence” passed on the chairmen of the two councils.

The notifications of vote of no confidence were served on the duo of chairman of Osogbo South LCDA, Mr. Hakeem Olaoye and Olorunda Local Government, Mr. Munirudeen Ahmed Anisu.

The Speaker, therefore, directed the Joint Committees on Local Government and Judiciary to deliberate on the notification letters within seven days and present their report and recommendations to the House on steps to be taken on the matter.

It would be recalled that the House had on Monday directed all the executives of the two local governments to maintain status quo, carry out their duties and maintain peace.
