The Ondo State House of Assembly, ODHA, has given the Commissioner for Finance, the Accountant General and the Auditor General one week to appear before it and explain the rationale behind the controversial secret account of 4.3 billion naira in a popular commercial bank.

The lawmakers at a plenary presided over by the speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, had invited the three principal officials to appear before it for clarification.

During the appearance, the lawmakers took turns to inquire from the officials who claimed they were not with adequate documents to back up their claims.

The House among other things requested for information as regards when the account was opened, by whom and interest accrued in the said ten years before the account was discovered.

Correspondent Olumide Abudu reports that the lawmakers frowned at the development and tagged it as serious matter of concern as millions of naira would have accrued as interest on the said account.
