Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has mourned the death of the President, League of Imams and Alfas in the State and Chief Imam of Egbaland, Alhaji Liadi Orunsolu.

In a statement, Governor Abiodun condoled with the people of Egbaland, the State and the Muslim Ummah in general on the death of Alhaji Orunsolu.

The governor described Alhaji Orunsolu’s death as a great loss to the state and noted that the late Chief Imam spent his days praying and teaching values and precepts of the Quran.

Governor Abiodun Said that the late Chief Imam of Egbaland was unpretentious about what he preached, and the fact that he died after the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitri celebration at the age of 99 indicated that Allah was pleased with him.

He pointed out that Alhaji Orunsolu lived a worthy and highly commendable life and urged all Muslims in the state to immortalise him by embracing the virtues of love, peace, and good neighborliness.

He prayed that Allah would grant the soul of the departed good rest in Aljannah Firdaus and comfort his family.
