As parts of activities marking one year in office, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has inaugurated a Police Mobile Squadron in Ago-Are with a presentation of six Hilux trucks for the operations of the outfit.

The governor also commenced distribution of 10,000 seedlings to farmers in Iseyin.

Speaking during the inauguration of the projects in Oke- Ogun, Governor Makinde said that the success of his administration was achievable due to the efficient management of the state’s resources.

Governor Makinde, who stated that his administration remained committed to ensuring the safety and security of the state, lauded the Inspector-General of Police for granting approval for the Squadron.

On the distribution of seedlings to 10,000 farms in the state at Iseyin, the governor noted that the effort was part of the government’s palliatives to ensure food security in the state after COVID-19 pandemic.

He appreciated the traditional institutions, elders and leaders in Oke Ogun for their support for his government.

Earlier, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, said the inauguration of PMF 72 Squadron, Ago -Are demonstrated the fulfilment of the promise made by the governor to protect the lives and properties of the people of the state.

He said the police unit would entrench the principles and strategy of community policing, which is part of the government’s policy thrust at combating crimes in the society
