Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has inaugurated the State City Watch Project and the Crime Alert Platform to complement efforts in tackling insecurity in the  the state.

The governor inaugurated the project at the headquarters of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, Onireke, Ibadan. 

Speaking at the event, Governor Makinde noted that the commissioning of the Security Situation Monitoring Room is for Real-Time monitoring of Flashpoints, violent prone areas in the state and ensure security of lives and property of the good people of Oyo state.

Governor Makinde while describing the project as sustainable said it would usher in a safer Oyo State pledging that his administration would continue to give adequate priority to the welfare of security agents in the state.

Earlier, Special Adviser to Governor on Security Fatai Owoseni who explained the upgraded CCTV gadgets at the centre would cover most strategic areas in Ibadan metropolis adding that the Oyo State Crime Alert App would be free to enhance prompt response of security operatives for emergency rescue missions.

Several state top government functionaries attended the event.
