Police Arrest Informant for Suspicious Whistle Blowing
Zamfara State Police Command has arrested one Nasiru Garba for false information about a shrine in Gusau, the state capital.
Commissioner of Police Usman Nagogo who revealed this to newsmen while parading the suspect said the earlier report about the shrine is false as it was an attempt to tarnish image of some top government officials of the state.
CP Nagogo explained that, Nasiru Garba popularly known as “Nasiru More” had grudges with some of highly placed government officials which led him to lured one Mustapha Abdullahi and Hassan Garba to procured the exhibits which includes a plain white clothing materials with Arabic inscriptions, calabash, pots among others which they dumped at the said Shrine and later called police to innocent persons.
He said the police had earlier took sample of the blood found in the house to Laboratory that confirmed to them that, it was a human blood and rituals materials until the recent development which disclosed that the blood could be that of animals collected from a slaughter house at Unguwar Gwaza area in Gusau.
However, Nasiru Garba insisted that, his information is a genuine and valid, saying he is ready defend it in a court of law.
CP Usaman Nagogo said the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution as soon as investigations was concluded.
