The Lockdown Enforcement Committee of Ijesaland has expressed
dissatisfaction with the level of compliance by residents.

Special Adviser to the governor on security, Mrs. Abiodun Ige, who led
the enforcement team to Ifewara and its environs decried the manner
the migrants residing in the areas flouted government’s directives.

She lamented the way the suspected migrants were carrying on their
daily activities as if there was no lockdown.

While expressing fear on the implications of the conduct of the
migrants, Mrs Ige noted that if urgent actions were not taken, such
act might jeopardize the fundamental reason the lockdown was imposed.

Mrs Ige warned the defaulters to desist from taking government’s
directives for granted, saying there will not be any preferential
treatment in the enforcement of rules.

Osun state government had last weekend announced a 7-day total
lockdown in four local government in Ijesa axis of the state as part
of efforts to curb community transmission of Coronavirus pandemic.
