Over one thousand and five hundred women in Osun have been benefited from Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari palliative programme.

Distributing the palliative on behalf of Mrs Buhari, Osun State First Lady, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, said the palliative was part of efforts of mitigating the effects of Covid-19 on women in the state.

The First Lady, who doled out empowerment equipment to artisans under Future Assured Programme, FAP, initiated to help the less privileged during this COVID-19 pandemic, said government would continue to design programmes that would have direct impact on the citizens.

In a remark, the South West Zonal Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme, Mrs Adeyinka Bamigbose, urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the empowerment equipment effective.

Mrs Bamigbose said the initiative was aimed at reducing poverty among women, especially at this period of economic hardship occasioned by coronavirus.

Some of the beneficiaries lauded the wife of the president for the gesture, saying it would go a long to enhance their economic status.

Items distributed include hair dryers, food items as well as hand washing facilities.
