Oyo State Government has expressed its readiness to develop about eight Government Reserved Areas (GRAs) in six local government areas of the state.

The Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr Abiodun Abdu-Raheem disclosed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Mr Abdu-Raheem noted that the construction of four out of the proposed GRAs would commence before the end of this year.

The commissioner explained that three GRAs would be sited at Akinyele Local Government Area, one at Ido Local Government Area, one at Egbeda Local Government Area, one at Oluyole Local Government Area, one at Lagelu Local Government Area and one at Ona-ara Local Government Area.

On the ongoing Property Enumeration and Street Identification Exercise by the Oyo State Government, Mr Abdu-Raheem emphasised that for the government to be able to provide necessary infrastructure for the people, there was the need for adequate data.

Mr Abdul Raheem allayed the fears of some citizens presuming levies as the aftermath of the enumeration exercise.

The commissioner hinted that additional 50 successful applicants would be collecting their digitized Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) next week under the Oyo State Home Owners Charter Scheme.
