As Federal government directed Electricity Distribution Company across the country to stop estimated billings and provision of meter to every household, residents of Osun state have described the move as welcome development.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Osogbo the respondents said the directive would restore confidence in the consumption of electricity consumers’ use in the country.

A Human rights activist, Mr Saka Waheed said the directive was long overdue as Nigerians have been forced to be paying above their consumption.

Mr Waheed urged government to put all machineries in place to ensure enforcement of the directive, saying the sector had exposed citizens to untold hardship.

On his part, a public affairs commentator, Alhaji Waheed lawal described the directive as a welcome development just as he called on government to always show concern about the wellbeing of the citizenry.

Alhaji Lawal emphasized the need for government to develop holistic approach that would put an end to the problem of power generation, transmission and distribution in the country.
