Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Dawud Akinola has been installed as Asiwaju of Akinyele Local Government.

The installation was done by traditional council of Akinyele Local Government at Mele Muku Village.

While performing the installation, Chairman, Akinyele Traditional Council and Onijaye of Ijaye, Oba Lasisi Akano described Aare as a consummate leader and a philanthropist of note who had contributed immensely to the development of humanity as well as his root in the council.

In a remark, Chairman, Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Taoheed Adedigba congratulated the new title holder and said Alhaji Akinola deserved the honour as he remains one of the rising stars of Akinyele, whose impacts had been felt for decades.

The new Asiwaju of Akinyele Local Government, Alhaji Aare Dawud Akinola appreciated the honour and gave an assurance that he would not relent in his efforts at improving the lives of the less privileged people. 

He promised to build a primary and secondary school as well a vocational centre on hectares of land already acquired at his home village, Mele in Akinyele Local Government. 

The programme also witnessed the turbaning of Alhaji Qazim Badmus as the Chief Imam of Mele by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo state, Sheikh Abubakri Abdul Ganiy Agbotomokekere.

Dignitaries at the occasion included Vice Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, (Muslim Wing), Dr Ibrahim Adebolu, Oniroko of Iroko, Oba Abioye Opeola, a popular Islamic preacher, Khalifah Dhikrulah Agbarajetioluwa, founder, Isokan Islam Society, Alhaji Abdulah Ojasope-Olaore, a business tycoon, Alhaja Romoke Lahaola and Iyalode Adeen Melemuku, Alhaja Tayyibat Lateef.
