The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Oyo state has called on the Federal and state governments to look critically into the high level of youth unemployment in Nigeria. 

Oyo State chairperson of the NYCN, Mrs Adebobola Agbeja who made the call while speaking with journalists in Ibadan said about twenty one point seven million youths are unemployed which calls for concern.

Speaking on this year’s Africa Youth Day with the theme “Youth’s Voices, actions engagement: Building a better Africa, Mrs Agbeja urged relevant authorities to discard policies that are not youth friendly. 

She appealed to government to create enabling environment for youths to be integrated into leadership. 

She expressed joy that government is taking steps at ensuring requests of the youth are being considered through the town hall meetings to engage stakeholders.
