There was an uproar in Iwo Town, Osun State, as two unidentified women and a man suspected to be kidnappers were killed and burnt to ashes by an angry mob. 

Radio Nigeria learnt that the incident happened around noon when they were caught after allegedly kidnapping a child around the palace of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi. 

There was disagreement among the residents as some attempted to lynch the suspected kidnappers, while others struggled to prevent them and took the suspects to the palace of the monarch, Oluwo of Iwo to decide their fate but the palace gate was not opened. 

Some of the residents that tried to intervene by preventing them to be killed were attacked, while the mob chased away policemen that got to the spot to prevent break down of law and order.

The two women were stripped naked and beaten to the state of coma before they were eventually set ablaze. 

Our correspondent also gathered that a man who was among the three suspected kidnappers escaped the mob, but was chased by Okada riders and killed around Ori-Eru area of Iwo. 

The two female suspected kidnappers were killed and burnt a junction near the palace. 

In a telephone interview with newsmen, Chairman of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Iwo division, Mr Ayinla Akanfe explained that the suspected kidnappers came into Iwo from a neighbouring community. 

He said he mobilsed some residents to stop the mob from killing the suspects but failed.
