Ekiti State Police Command says it has deployed a Special Team of Policemen to be assisted by other security outfits, Amotekun Corps, the local hunters and the vigilantes to rescue a popular petroleum dealer in Ado Ekiti, Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami who was kidnapped on Saturday night.

Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Mobayo, made this known in a statement while reacting to the abduction of the petrol marketer.

Mr Mobayo appealed to residents of the state to remain calm, assuring that the Police would do its best to track down the abductors and rescue the victim.

The wife of the victim, Mrs Mariam Akinbami had reported at Odo-Ado Divisional Police Headquarters that her husband was kidnapped at the premises of his Petrol Station along Ijan/Ado Road at about 8:30 pm.

According to her, four unknown men quietly approached the husband, ordered him into his Toyota Jeep and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police had advised the people to be wary of strange and suspicious faces around their domains and implored anyone with useful information concerning the incident to please contact the nearest Police Station or call 0806 233 5577.
