Drinking water has been identified as measure to maintain a healthy balance living.

A dietician, Mrs. Bola Alimi, who stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Osogbo explained that dehydration can cause decrease in energy level, mental functioning and increase stress on the body.

Mrs. Alimi said human body cells and organs depend on water for their functioning, noting that without water, living things, including humans will die in a few days.

She highlighted some of the effects of dehydration to include poor skin, headaches, slow metabolism and high risk of stroke.

Mrs. Alimi advised adults to drink at least eight glasses of water every day as it serves as a lubricant to the digestive system and all other body processes.
