Lawmaker representing Iseyin/Kajola/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Mr Shina Peller has described the ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as an avenue to further strengthen internal democracy in the party.

Mr Peller stated this in an interview with newsmen in Iseyin, shortly after revalidating his membership of the APC.

The Federal lawmaker said the ongoing exercise would afford the APC the opportunity to re-build its democracy from the grassroots to the highest level.

Mr Peller said he was impressed with the turn out and peaceful conduct in his constituency.

He was of the opinion that the party to beat in future elections in the country remained the APC, stressing that any aspiring politician could have his or her dream become reality by joining the party.

Commenting on the security situation in the country, Mr Peller said it was high time the Federal government decentralized security agencies, especially the police force.

The Federal lawmaker also used the opportunity to debunk speculation that he was interested in running for the governorship seat in 2023.

He said he was not interested in the 2023 governorship race, noting that it was his party that would decide his next move.

Mr Peller, however, encouraged the younger generation to get involved actively in politics and dominate the National Assembly in the nearest future.
