Covid Vaccines: Traditional Rulers Call for Cooperation with Oyo Health Workers
As the administration of Covid-19 vaccines jab begins across Oyo state, residents have been advised to cooperate with the health workers for the success of the programme.
A traditional ruler in Akinyele Local Government, Moniya, Ibadan, the Onijaye of Ijaye Land, Oba Abd-Lasisi Akano gave the advice in an interview with Radio Nigeria correspondent in Ibadan.
Oba Akano stated that cooperation of all and sundry in the society for the vaccine’s jab remained vital to get rid of the pandemic in the country.
The Onijaye of Ijaye-Land advocated clear constitutional role for traditional ruler in the wake of various challenges confronting the nation, especially security problem.
Another community leader, Baale of Aroro community, Chief Wasiu Oladapo urged governments and other political office holders to prioritize the health sector, especially in respect of rural areas.
Chief Oladapo, who appealed to health workers to be friendly with Nigerians during the administration of Covid-19 vaccines jab, called on media professionals and National Orientation Agency, NOA, to design sensitization programmes on better understanding of the vaccines.
