Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA, has implored residents of the state to make cleanliness their watchword during and after the Easter celebration.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Mr Ola Oresanya gave the advice in Abeokuta as residents of the state join the rest of the world to celebrate the yearly festivity with its expected increase in waste generation due to the celebration.

Mr Oresanya, while thanking the residents for their cooperation and conformity with the new waste management reforms introduced by the present administration, urged them to continue to display high level of cleanliness, especially with state  wearing a new look.

He reminded the residents of the state of the need to give their generated wastes during the festivity to the Private Sector Participant assigned to their communities or drop them at government approved waste collection points for proper disposal.

Mr Oresanya also stressed the need for motorists plying the Ogun State corridor to be mindful of the safety of OGWAMA sweepers and workers that would be on duty tidying roads and other public utilities by driving cautiously.
