The Delta State Government has restated its commitment to supporting the Nigeria military in the effort to maintain the peace and to ensure stability in the country.

The Secretary to Delta State Government, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, made the assertion while receiving officers and participants of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics, who were on a study tour of the state earmarked to terminate on May 7.

Mr. Ebie noted Delta State was relatively peaceful due to efforts by the government to engage the youths with entrepreneurial initiatives, while maintaining cordial relationships with traditional rulers and religious leaders.

The Secretary to Delta State government mentioned that the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration also made efforts to boost the economy with the concession of the Asaba Airport and the establishment of nineteen new technical colleges to bridge the skills gap and address high unemployment rate.

The Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics, Major General Martins Enendu, stated the study tour was aimed at equipping participants with firsthand knowledge of resources across the states of the federation, with a view to harnessing the assets to strengthen the capacity of the Nigerian military.

General Enendu added that the data from the project would assist the military in short, medium and long term operations.
