Neem leaves or ashes have been identified as the best way of preserving fruit, crops and plants.

A key note speaker at a program on bio diversity Professor Ibukunoluwa Ayodele stated at a workshop organized by the Professor Abosede Omonona University of Ibadan.

Speaking through Professor Tola Jenyo- Oni of the department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Professor Ayodele said activities of humans, one of which is the use of chemicals have destroyed many plants.

Also speaking, Head of department wild life and ecotourism management Professor Abosede Omonona noted that the program was timely due to the relationship between human and the ecosystem.

Acting Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Ademola Ekanola and Dean Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, Professor Kolawole Ajani who were represented by Professor Abiodun Oluwadare from the department of forest production and product said the need to conserve the environment was the duty of everyone including the government.

One of the chairmen organizing committee Professor Oluwagbemiga Ojo said the program was borne out of the need to create awareness on the eco system.

Some of the participants said they would spread what they had benefited to their immediate environment.

The program featured quiz and debate by selected schools in Ibadan.
