Ogun State Government has launched a portal on its official website to enable prospective applicants and intending investors to get necessary information on procurement of building permits for residential and commercial purposes from the comfort of their homes.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Tunji Odunlami announced this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Mr. Odunlami explained that the initiative was part of the efforts to forestall multiplicity of charges, revenue leakage and removal of bottlenecks in the process of ensuring prompt access to building permits.
He pointed out that proposals on one principal law and five regulations to provide legal backing for the restructuring, reforms and operations of the Ministry and other newly created agencies had also been initiated to enhance the process.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Yetunde Dina had noted that the forum would enable the government to assess the performance of various reforms policies geared towards creating the sustainable business environment for investors.
