Oyo state government has received five million mosquito insecticide treated bed nets from an international agency to be distributed to residents of the state.

Our health correspondent reports that the united state agency for international development, UNSAID representative, Celeste Carr, handed over the nets to the state government. receiving the treated nets oyo state governor who was represented by his deputy chief of staff, mr abdulmojeed mogbonjubola pledged to ensure even distribution of the nets.

Mr Mogbonjubola noted that one of the four cardinal agenda of the state government was to leave a legacy at ensuring a better health care services for all.

special adviser to governor on health, dr funmi salami said nigeria contributed one quarter of malaria deaths worldwide hence the need for all to imbibe the use of malaria treated net which was one of the major ways to prevent the scourge.

the event which was attended by key stakeholders in the health sector in oyo state also included religious leaders.
