The Osun State House of Assembly, OSHA, says heads of revenue-generating agencies who failed to appear for the defence of their budget for the 2022 fiscal year will get zero allocation.

The Speaker, Mr. Timothy Owoeye stated this while declaring open 2022 Budget defence by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the state before the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation exercise.

He said the Assembly would be thorough in the consideration of budget proposals presented by Ministries and Agencies of Government.

The Speaker advised Ministries and Agencies to improve on their Internally Generated Revenue drive by looking inward as well as blocking all revenue leakages and loopholes within their jurisdiction.

He urged residents and business owners in Osun State to ensure timely payment of taxes and levies which he noted would lessen the stress of funding of budget.

Earlier, the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriations, Mr. Taiwo Olodo said the Assembly is set to help the MDAs improve on their services, so as to enable them to generate more revenue for the state government, asking them to table their challenges and constraints before the committee.

Commissioner for Education, Mr. Folorunso Oladoyin led the Ministry of Education and five agencies of government to appear before the joint House committees of Finance and Appropriations and House Committee on Education, to present their year 2022 budget estimates.
