An epidemiologist, Dr Niniola Ogunbodede has appealed to Nigerians to do all to prevent Outbreak of diseases rather than finding measures to cure it.
She made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria.
Dr.Ogunbodede who noted that preventing diseases was far more productive than managing it said it was essential to put every measure in place as individuals or entities to avoid being victims of any disease.
“We should put in place everything as a nation,as a family and individuals to prevent Outbreak of diseases rather than having diseases and looking for ways to contain them.
When we say prevention, we mean everything concerning houses to prevent diseases through overcrowding, roads to prevent accidents and education to teach people about diseases. Dr.Ogunbodede said.
The epidemiologist advocated establishment of good hospitals where the message of public health and prevention would be prioritised.
Dr.Ogunbodede also made case for well equipped Primary health care centers where there would be preventive health Care services like checking blood pressure,blood glucose and mental health status to ensure overall well being.
