It is In continuation of Christmas celebration as people exchange gifts with one another in the spirit of the season. 
Our correspondent, who spoke with some residents of Akure about the day, said that,
Some residents of Akure, Ondo state, Mrs Comfort Mosunmola, Bolaji Akintemi  and Mr Alo Micheal and mrs folasade Bamigboye in separate interviews with Radio Nigeria however said the current economic realities in the  country may not give room for such benevolence this year. 

The respondents however encouraged wealthy individuals to show love and affection to the less privileged especially those who found it hard to afford daily meals. 

When asked if she would be taking her family out for recreational activities, one if the respondents, Mrs comfort mosunmola said the Covid-19 omicrant variant would not allow them to do that at this period In time  hence her family had decided to mark the day indoors. 

Meanwhile, major recreational centres in Akure, the capital city are currently wearing a new look to entertain fun seekers as they celebrate Christmas.
