An attempt by some inmates at Ile-Ife Correctional Center to escape has been foiled by security men at the facility.
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 9:00 am at Kosere Correctional Centre, Ile Ife led to the alleged killing of four of the inmates.
A source told our correspondent that the first inmate that attempted to lead the plan was shot while the other three that followed also suffered the same fate.
The spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.
She said the details of the incident were not available at the time of filing this story.
It was gathered that the Osun State Comptroller of Correctional Service, Mr Lanre Amoran, had visited Ile-Ife Correctional Centre over the incident.
The spokesperson of the Correctional Service in Osun State, Mr Sola Adeotan, said the details of the incident were not available to him as of the time our correspondent spoke to him.
