The controversy trailing direct primary or its otherwise in the amendment of the electoral act should not be allowed to overshadow other issues critical to credible polls in the country.

A sociologist, Mr Niyi Oladeji stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria Ibadan.

Mr Oladeji explained that Nigerians should be concerned about clauses forty-three, fifty-two and sixty-three being allowed to thrive.

Mr Oladeji added that when allowed to function, the clauses would curb rigging and other forms of electoral manipulations.
