Six out of eight aspirants jostling to be the flag bearer of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the June 18 Governorship Election in Ekiti State have called for the cancellation of the primary election over alleged manipulation of the process in favour of an aspirant.

The aspirants are Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Mr Bamidele Faparusi, Mr Femi Bamisile, Mr Kayode Ojo and Mr Olu Afolabi.

The aspirants, in the company of their supporters on Thursday, stormed the APC State Secretariat at Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti to show their grievances.

Addressing newsmen, the aspirants alleged that the process of the primary election had been manipulated to favour a particular aspirant.

They also claimed that the election materials had been tampered with in the middle of the night.

The aggrieved aspirants however called for the cancellation of the primary election and requested for a fresh one in the interest of the party.

However, accreditation of members has commenced in some wards visited across the state.
