Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi wants residents across the state to always seek early medical attention to their health challenges in government hospitals to prevent untimely death.

The Governor gave the advice today In Ado Ekiti while inaugurating four ambulances recently purchased to strengthen the newly launched Ekiti State Ambulances Services, EKSAMS.

Dr Fayemi noted that the current death rate through illnesses and accidents were on the increase as a result of the uncared and nonchalant attitude of residents to their health status.

He said the ambulances would be deployed to hospitals in the three senatorial districts in addition to the existing ones to cater for the needs of the people during emergencies.

The Governor gave assurance that government would continue to work with relevant stakeholders and development partners to enable Ekiti to lead in the health service providers.

Earlier, the state commissioner for health and human services, Dr Oyebanji Filani said the ministry was prepared more than ever before to respond quickly to any health need of the people.
