Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state has performed turning of sod of the state workers’ Housing estate.

The Housing estate which will comprise of 120 three bedrooms and 60 two bedrooms apartments is located on 10 hectares of land behind Nigerian police, zone eleven headquarters, off osogbo-gbongan expressway, Ede.

The estate which was said to be delivered in months will be developed in partnership with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigera.

Speaking at the event, Governnor Oyetola said the Housing scheme was in furtherance of government’s efforts at prioritizing workers’welfare.

Governnor Oyetola noted the estate would fast track development of Ede land , boost socio economic status of the people calling on workers to reciprocate governments gesture through quality service delivery.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigera, represented by deputy general manager, Mr Raheem Onitoolo, commended Osun state government for freely releasing land for the scheme which he said would help in bringing the cost down, thus making it affordable for civil servants.

In a remark, the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola.Lawal explained that the land had long been acquired by government saying a recent Court ruling had also confirmed it belongs to the state government.

Also speaking, the state commissioner for land and physical planing, Mr Nathaniel Agunbiade decried the activities of land encroachment on government land in the state.

Mr Agunbiade commended Oba Adesola Lawal for acting appropriately over the activities of land grabbers on the project site.
