A constitution Lawyer, Dr Kazeem Olaniyan has advised members of the national assembly to Include the legal framework for defection of the executive in the ongoing constitution amendment.
Dr Olaniyan who is also a lecturer at the department of Jurisprudence and international law, University of Ibadan gave the advise while featuring on straight talk, an interview programme on premier 93.5 FM.
He said Many governors now cross carpeted indiscriminately from the party they rode into power hiding under the fact that the constitution is silent about defection of the executive.
Dr Olaniyan Said the votes that produces any governor was for the party therefore it was not morally right for such governor to defect to another party.
The university lecturer explained that the Ebonyin state assembly lawmakers that defected in solidarity to Governor David Umahi only dared the constitution by acting against the law.
