There is palpable fear among the people of the Iluju area, of Oriire local government area of Oyo State.
This followed a degenerated civil matter in the village.
Sources who confirmed this to Radio Nigeria on the telephone alleged that the fracas which ensued between men of Operation Burst and some villagers had resulted in the death of at least two people.
An account from the sources has it that someone left a motorcycle on a field where a group of people had scheduled to play football.
The sources said the development led to a level of misunderstanding compelling one of the factions to invite men of Operation Burst.
Another account has it that, officers of Operation Burst who were invited to enforce law and order at a social function which had gone wrong shot a villager.
The sources, however noted that in the course of the intervention, officers of Operation Burst allegedly shot a villager, a development that prompted the villagers to go on reprisal attack which resulted in the death of an officer and the destruction of Operation Burst van.
The source told Radio Nigeria that all roads leading in and out of the village had allegedly been blocked.
Efforts to reach Operation Burst Public Relations Officer and Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State on the telephone have not been successful as both of them are yet to respond to telephone calls.
The chairman, Oriire local government area of Oyo state, Mr Micheal Olateju has confirmed the unrest that ensued at Iluju town.
Mr.Olateju who said he was at the scene of the incident at the time of this report said he was yet to have details on the incident and promised to get back .
He however said normalcy had returned to the place.
Radio Nigeria had earlier reported that an unrest that ensued between the villagers and officers of Operation Burst had resulted in the death of at least two people and destruction of Operation Burst Operational vehicle.
