Broadcast stations in Nigeria need to place more emphasis on issues that unite the nation rather than the ones that are capable of dividing it.

The Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Victor Olabimtan gave the advice when he received the management team of Positive 102.5 FM Akure led by the general manager, Mrs Olubunmi Olalere in his office.

Mr Olabimtan described the media as a powerful platform whose activities could either promote unity or ignite war among the people.

He commended Radio Nigeria for using its platform to uplift the people and unite the nation at all times, promising a more robust relationship between Ondo SUBEB and Positive FM Akure.

Earlier, General Manager, Positive FM Akure, Mrs Olalere had appreciated the management of Ondo SUBEB for patronising the station.

Mrs Olalere said the familiarisation visit was aimed at exploring more areas of collaboration between the two government agencies, assuring the SUBEB chairman of quality service from Positive FM always.
