The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has embarked on moves to make voting more accessible and easier for voters.

To this end, it has taken a sensitization tour to some local government councils in Oyo State.

The tour was to inform the eligible voters of the opportunity to transfer their polling units to the newly created ones.

Speaking during the visit to the newly upgraded voting points in Ibadan North East, Ibadan North and Ido local government areas, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke who stressed the need for the electorate to populate the new polling units, urged community and religious leaders to inform people in their domains to transfer their voting rights to the newly upgraded polling units.

 The REC highlighted that there are 1,607 newly upgraded voting points, with 57 at Ibadan North East, 208 at Ibadan North and 116 at Ido local government areas.

 DR Agboke added that the fourth quarter of the Continuous Voters Registration exercise will begin on the 11th of next month, urging Nigerians who have not registered to make use of the opportunity to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs ahead of the coming general elections.
