The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ogun State has expressed worry over low participation of voters.

The new Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Niyi Ijalaye made this known at the INEC’s headquarters in Abeokuta while speaking with chairmen and secretaries of political parties.

Mr. Ijalaye noted that the level of voters participation at every election year in Ogun State was rapidly declining.

He pointed out that during the last Continuous Voter Registration exercise in the state, one million, one hundred and twenty-six thousand, two hundred and forty-seven Permanent Voter Cards were printed from which over half were not collected.
