Some residents of Ogun State, under the aegis of “the New Tribe, Ogun State have taken to the streets of Abeokuta, the state capital in a solidarity rally for the presidential ambition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The rally was held few hours after Vice President Osinbajo declared his intention to contest for the president in next year’s elections.

The group, which was led by the three-time gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, marched through the streets of Abeokuta, expressing their satisfaction with the vice president’s declaration.

Prince Isiaka, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress while speaking said the walk was in solidarity and approval of the declaration by Professor Yemi Osinbajo to run for the President of Nigeria in 2023.

He said various support groups had shown readiness to work for him towards winning the election.

The Ogun West Senatorial aspirant also explained that he did not view the vice president’s declaration as a betrayal to the former Lagos Governor, Senator Bola Tinubu.
