Easter Sunday is a day to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In Ibadan, Oyo State capital, most church services were held with sermons reflecting joy, hope, revival and encouragement to forge ahead regardless of the challenges in the country.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that some Christians in Ibadan woke up as early as five O clock on Sunday morning, rejoicing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Radio Nigeria correpondents who monitored the situation at Agbowo, Mokola, Dugbe, Iwo Road, Moniya and Challenge observe that most of the christian worship centers experienced large turn out of worshipers.

At the Gospel Faith Mission International, GOFAMINT, Agbowo, the Church of the Transfiguration, Cathedral of Saint James, The Great, The Methodist Church Nigeria, Christians used the occasion to pray for the nation.

The situation was the same at Molete Baptist Church, where the gorgeously dressed worshippers prayed and sang to appreciate God for another easter celebration.

In an Interview, the General Secretary, GOFAMINT, Pastor Femi Omowunmi, said Jesus resurrection has brought hope to every individual, hence the need for Nigerians to be optimistic of a better Nigeria.

The Provost, Cathedral of Saint James, The Great, The Very Reverend David Olagbaju, urged Nigerian leaders to have a change of heart and develop positive attitudes to the masses.

The Reverend Olagbaju also urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the nation’s leaders.
