A 30 year old man, Ajibola Akindele has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command, for forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 20 year old girl inside a church.
The suspect was arrested after the mother of the victim reported the incident at Lafenwa divisional headquarters.
The mother of the victim told policemen that the suspect allegedly took advantage of her daughter whom she said was sent to decorate a church at Ita oshin area of Abeokuta together with the suspect.
She alleged that, the suspect committed the crime, after he discovered that, both of them were alone in the church.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said the suspect had confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigations and possible prosecution.
