Three suspected ritualists and other suspects have been paraded at the Nigeria Police, Osun State Command for various criminal offences.

The suspects were paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode, who was represented by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Yemisi Opalola.

The suspected ritualists, Muideen Tunji, Yusuf Muslim and Rabiu Fathai were paraded for killing a 53-year-old woman, Aishat Yekeen at lle-Ogbo in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State.

With different accounts of involvement, they confessed that they connived and severed parts of the victim’s body and burnt the hands, legs, head and heart for ritual purposes before burying the remaining parts in a nearby bush.

The suspects were later arrested by police detectives at different locations within the state following complaints laid at the police headquarters by the son of the deceased.

Speaking with journalists, the son of the deceased, Yekin Sulaiman said one of the killers, Muideen Tunji, who is well known to the family, promised to assist her mother in the spiritual cleansing of one of her children but later lured her to an unknown place and took her life.

Meanwhile, other suspects were paraded for offences such as attempted kidnapping, a threat to life, conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.

The commissioner said the suspects were arrested at different locations through the swift intervention of his officers upon receipt of distress calls and complaints from members of the public.

He advised the public to continue to support the police with useful information that would assist the force to nip crime in the bud.
