Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Mr Isaac Omodewu says the party will soon close all ranks to form a formidable team ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Mr Omodewu stated this at the party’s state secretariat, Ibadan while receiving some politicians who decamped from other political parties in the state.

The APC chairman said the defection of major political bigwigs from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP and other parties in Oyo State showed that APC is making progress in its reconciliation.

Mr Omodewu explained that many political gladiators from other parties were still being expected to join APC.

In a remark, the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Teslim Folarin gave assurance that all the decampees would be given equal rights, privileges and opportunities attached to membership in the party.

Speaking with newsmen, one of the decamped who is the member, House of Representatives for Ido/Ibarapa Constituency, Mr Ajibola Muraina expressed optimism that the party would be victorious in the 2023 election.

Also speaking, another decampee and 2019 governorship aspirant under African Democratic Congress, ADC, Engineer Remi Oseni promised to deploy all machinery in his capacity to ensure unity in APC.

Others who defected mainly from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party in the state included former special adviser to Governor Makinde, Mr Yemi Aderibigbe, former Ibadan North Council chairman, Mr Ademola Omotoso, former PDP state chairman, Chief Michael Adegbite, former PDP youth leader, Adekola Adeoye.
