Ibadan metropolis witnessed light traffic in the early hours of today just as recreation centres and eateries experienced low turnout.

At the popular Ventura at Sango and Trans Amusement Park, scanty fun-seekers turn out.

Radio Nigeria correspondent, who also monitored the traffic situation, observed areas such as the University of Ibadan main gate Iwo Road, Sango, Aleshinloye junction and Oke Padre, which usually witnessed heavy vehicular movement, had free flow of traffic.

Also, inter-state motor parks had scanty passengers travelling out of the ancient city.

An intra-city car operator, Mr Ade Lukman said residents were still in the mood of celebration in their various homes.

Mr Lukman said the economic situation had cautioned individuals to be mindful of spending.

He expressed optimism that there would larger turnout later in the day saying people cannot afford not to visit their relations and friends.
