The Chief of Defense Staff, General Leo Irabor, has assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces is capable of addressing the current and future security challenges in the country.

General Irabor gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of the Defense Retreat with the theme: ‘Shaping the Armed Forces of Nigeria for Current and Future Security Challenges’ held in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The Chief of Defense Staff said the resolutions reached at the top-level military summit would strengthen mechanisms for addressing the various security problems.

At a dinner after the discussions, Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa commended the officers and men of the Nigeria armed forces for their sacrifice in the course of striving to maintain the peace in the country.

The high point of the event was the award presentation by the Chief of Defense Staff to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Sheriff Oboreiwori, including the Service Chiefs.
